The 2021/22 wind up this year will be held on Saturday 9th April 2022 at Leemas Rooftop Bar in Byford again.
It's free for everyone that has paid their membership, $20 if you bring a partner.

COVID Requirements
Hi guys just a heads up as of today proof of double vaccination will be required to enter change rooms and club rooms at harmony fields as mandated by WA government and also check in.
City of Gosnell's will be doing spot checks to make sure we are all complying with the rules and there is huge fines for those who don't comply. If you are not double vaccinated you CAN STILL play at this stage.

OD-B Fall just short of T20 Flag
The OD-B side qualified top of their pool of the T20 competition and took on Phoenix in the Grand Final on Saturday.
Maddington won the toss and put Phoenix into bat. A couple of quick wickets saw Maddington in front until Phoenix's Craig Rourke scored 100, having a couple of let offs from dropped catches. Phoenix ended their 20 overs at 7/180, with Alec Lacey, Jeremy Visser and Shylesh Pillal each taking two wickets.
Maddington batsmen tried to chase the large score down, but fell 40 runs short. Ben Foot scored 46 runs, with Alec Lacey scoring an unbeaten 19 at the end of the innings.
Congratulations to all the OD-B players for making the Grand Final.

500th Game!
This week Maddington Cricket Club celebrate Life Member, and Club Legend, Michael 'Gibbo' Gibbons' 500th game.
Currently sitting second on the all-time batting aggregate list, 9,841 runs, with a high score of 110*, Gibbo has been a major influence both on and off the field.
Since debuting in the Summer of 1979/80, Gibbo has played in every grade from 1s to ODGs. Along with his two 100s, he has accumulated 45 50s, averaging 20.08 with the bat, yet the statistic that most Maddington members will remember Gibbo for on-field, he has been run out 46 times during his career and most of his batting partners will say that he is the 'Yes/No' King at the club.
Gibbo has played 204 2-days game, and 295 1-day games. He has taken 176 catches, 20 run outs and has played in 4 Grand Finals, winning 1 flag. He has also taken 23 wickets!
Off-field, Gibbo has been superlative helping raise 10s of $1,000s of dollars and his work on the Club Committee has been gratefully received and welcomed.
On behalf of Maddington Cricket Club Gibbo, have a sensational game, enjoy your 500th, and here's hoping for a win and plenty of celebratory drinks back at the club.

Dennis Plummer takes 600th wicket
Congratulations to Dennis Plummer on taking his 600th wicket for the club.
Dennis has taken 21 five wicket hauls in an innings, and taken 1 ten wicket haul in a match (against Phoenix in 2019).
His best bowling is 6-7 against Kelmscott in 2011.

Games Commence!
The first games of the season commences on Saturday 2nd October for 2nd and 5th Grades. The One
Day grades will start their season the week after (Saturday 9th October)
Training has been running for a number of weeks for all players, new and old, at the Harmony
Fields ground on Tuesday and Thirsday nights, from 4:30pm. Please make an effort to get to training
as this not only helps your game, but also your teammates.

Vale Laurie Boyle
The Club is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Laurie Boyle.
Laurie is an inaugural Life Member (1970) and inaugural Legend (2012) of the Club after he started
playing in the 50s. He is also a Life Member of the SMCA/SSCA.
For most of the 60s he was President of the Club (also acting as Treasurer and Secretary).
Laurie played well over 250 games (records incomplete) for the club and will be remembered fondly
for his efforts on and off the field. A lot of long term success of the club is attributed to his
efforts.
The club extends condolences to his wife Margaret (Life Member) and the rest of his family.

Milestone Games!
Congratulations to Darren Devereux and Dean North for playing their 350 and 300 game
respectively.
Darren and Dean were able to celebrate reaching this milestone by playing in the same game on thew
weekend.
Darren played his first game in the 1978/79 season, and was the incumbent 1st grade wicketkeeper
for most of his career. Darren was President for a number of seasons, and was made a Life Member in
1995. To celebrate Darren's contribution to the club, he was awarded Legend status in 2016.
Dean North played his first game in the 2002/03 season. Dean has been the Club Registrar for the
past 10 seasons, and was awarded Life Membership in 2016.
